This week, we decided to chat with Mia Neuse, L.Ac., a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist who works in the Montavillla neighborhood near the foundation of Mt. Tabor. Neuse is a graduate of the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and also a long time member of the East Portland Chamber of Commerce.

JJ: I yearn to play with Adam in Neil LaBute"s The Shape of Things. The range of emotions shown by this poor man is immeasurable. I also hope to play any male character in Death of a Salesman (my favourite play), Ken in Red, Boolie in Driving Miss Daisy, and Amos in Chicago. Really, I could go on eternally. There are many roles that are great out there!
I would suggest Biofreeze as a reasonable "band aid" for an injury. Raw quads? Tight hamstrings? Rub on the Biofreeze. From my experiences, I cannot advocate Biofreeze as an effective long-term alternative. It does not cure injuries more rapidly, but it definitely can make sore muscles feel better for a brief while. At the minimum, it can help clear up your sinuses when you have a cold! The great news is that Biofreeze is a topical ointment which has much less danger of side effects than other treatments, including anti-inflammatories. And--it is comparatively inexpensive!
